Guinea joined in 1980. The MRU comprises a Council of Ministers, a Technical Committee and a Secretariat. In Liberia and Sierra Leone, the consequences of civil war disrupted all development initiatives and eroded and the human and institutional capital of the states.
Project Description:The overall goal of the project was to strengthen capacity for effective development planning and implementation, particularly within the context of post-conflict recovery. The project had the following main objectives:
- Providing high level training to senior civil servants and policy makers;
- Equipping senior civil servants with operational, management and leadership skills needed to promote and lead change; and
- Supporting the development of local training capacity and development of comprehensive training delivery strategies.
