Rania Antonopoulou

Rania, a prominent economist and gender equality expert, has held notable positions such as Alternate Minister of Labor in Greece, Member of Parliament, and Ambassador to the Organi-sation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). She currently serves as a Senior Scholar at the Levy Economics Institute and is the Director of the Gender Equality and Econo-my Program. She has led research teams and introduced innovative measures like the Levy In-stitute Measure of Time and Income Poverty (LIMTIP), which sheds light on the impact of time poverty on households. She is passionate about alleviating world poverty.

Mamour, an established economist and banker, has served as Governor of the Central Bank of The Gambia, Permanent Secretary of several ministries, and Executive Director of the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia. He founded the Arab Gambian Islamic Bank and served as its first Managing Director, established The Gambia Bankers Association, set up the Institute of Bankers of The Gambia, and was Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Gambia Reve-nue Authority. Mamour is passionate about helping African financial institutions achieve finan-cial discipline and enhance their revenue performance. 

African Union Leadership Academy launched to build public servants’ capacity

African public servants are to have their capacity enhanced from high-level training following the launch of the African Union Leadership Academy by the African Union on Thursday, 28 January, 2016 on the side-lines of the 26th African Union Summit.

“The pan-African learning and development center is aimed at driving capacity building toward the implementation of Agenda 2063,” said the African Union Commission Chairperson, Dr. Dlamini-Zuma in her opening remarks at the launch.
