Project Description:To consolidate gains made by CCG during its first phase and strengthen its capacity to develop and promote the adoption of sustainable best practices in corporate governance through training, research, monitoring and advocacy. Its expected results were to:
- Enhance the leadership role of CCG in improving national, sub-regional and continental actions aimed at promoting, implementing and enforcing corporate governance practices on a generic basis that can be adapted to suit varying circumstances in other African countries.
- Enable enterprises in Kenya and Africa to become more efficient, productive, sustainable and competitive – which would result in sustainable wealth creation, generation of more employment opportunities, and the provision of enhanced security through the involvement and participation of the citizenry in the development process.
- Strengthen effective corporate governance and leadership practices in corporations, cooperatives, local authorities, small- and medium-term enterprises to create wealth at sub national levels, and hence improve the socio-political and economic environment in Kenya, the region and the Continent.
