The world needs a strong Africa and a strong Africa needs sustainable capacity
Africa has enjoyed a sustained growth over the past 15 years. However, this growth has neither been inclusive enough to lead to significant poverty reduction nor has it created decent jobs for youth. The continent therefore requires sustainable capacity to implement the transformative vision it has defined for itself, AU Agenda 2063, as well as to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals to be shaped in May 2016.
The 3rd CDF will provide a unique opportunity for a multi-stakeholder consultation aimed at unveiling the capacities required:
- In government to accelerate economic reforms and the development of the private sector leading to the creation of decent jobs for Africa’s youth;
- In the private sector to inculcate to governments the values of effectiveness and service delivery;
- In the civil society to effectively engage governments and the private sector towards an accountable industrialization which is respectful of the people and the environment.
The theme of the Forum is “Building Capacity for Africa's Transformation”.
